The RPLIDAR C1 is a compact 360-degree 2D laser scanner from SLAMTEC that measures distance by direct time of flight (DTOF). It scans the room around it ten times per second and outputs a ring of distance and angle points, which is what SLAM, mapping and obstacle avoidance on a mobile robot need. It is supported by the SLAMTEC SDK and by ROS 1 and ROS 2 drivers, and can be read from a PC, Raspberry Pi or Jetson.
