This is a synchronous step-down (buck) regulator that produces a fixed 5 V output from inputs up to 50 V – run a Raspberry Pi, servos or a logic board straight from a 12 V, 24 V or 36 V battery. It is far more efficient than a linear regulator, especially with large input-output differences, and delivers around 5.5 A typical.
