The Raspberry Pi Global Shutter Camera exposes every pixel of the frame at the same instant, so fast-moving subjects come out sharp and undistorted instead of skewed or wobbly as with a rolling-shutter sensor. That makes it the right camera for machine vision, drones, sports and industrial inspection, barcode reading, and any project where the camera or the subject is moving quickly. With large 3.45 µm pixels it can expose for as little as 30 µs in good light, and it supports external triggering for synchronising several cameras or firing a strobe.

Same C/CS lens mount as the High Quality Camera, so the official 6 mm and 16 mm lenses and any C/CS-mount lens fit. Lens sold separately. Raspberry Pi 5 owners need a 22-pin to 15-pin FPC cable (sold separately).

  • Sony IMX296LQR-C 1.58 MP global-shutter sensor, 6.3 mm diagonal, 3.45 µm pixels
  • 1456 × 1088 pixels, up to 60 fps; higher rates with cropping
  • C-mount thread with included C–CS adapter, adjustable back-focus (12.5–22.4 mm)
  • External trigger input for multi-camera sync, integrated IR-cut filter
  • Integrated ¼"-20 tripod mount; 38 × 38 × 19.8 mm, 34 g
  • Supported in Raspberry Pi OS via libcamera / rpicam-apps
  • In production until at least January 2032

In the box: Global Shutter Camera board, 150 mm 15-pin ribbon cable, C–CS mount adapter, screwdriver, plastic back cover.
