Adds an M.2 slot to the Raspberry Pi 5 so you can boot from an NVMe SSD instead of a microSD card. Faster boot, much faster file access and far better reliability for anything that writes a lot: home servers, Home Assistant, databases, desktop use.

• Connects to the Pi 5's PCIe FPC connector; supports PCIe Gen 2 x1 (Gen 3 can be enabled in software)
• Fits M.2 M-key NVMe drives in 2230 and 2242 sizes
• HAT+ form factor, mounts on the standard 40-pin header with the included standoffs and 16-way FPC cable
• Powers the drive from the Pi 5, up to 3 A at 3.3 V

Fits together with the Active Cooler. Does not fit inside the official Pi 5 Case with the lid on. SSD not included.
